J. Safra Sarasin has named a new head of discretionary portfolio management (DPM) in Asia.
Ian Koo has joined the Swiss bank in April and will lead its DPM business in the region, the bank has confirmed.
Koo was most recently head of asset management, Hong Kong, at Indosuez Wealth Management. Previously, he worked for BNY Mellon and HSBC in investments and portfolio management for UHW clients.
Meanwhile, in March, J. Safra Sarasin acquired approximately 70% in Denmark-based fintech firm Saxo Bank. The deal aims to enhance the global long-term potential of both J. Safra Sarasin Group, with client assets of $224 billion, and Saxo Bank, with $118 billion in client assets.
